Turmeric Essential Oil Yellow Oil Recipe

Enjoy the soft earthy and gently spicy aroma of the warm tropics! The essential oil of turmeric is found in the fleshy roots which is bright yellow-orange in color. It is a main ingredient in Indian cooking and is used in Ayurveda as an internal cleanser, especially for toning the kidneys and stimulating healthy digestion.

Turmeric was referred to as “The Golden Goddess” by Ayurvedic healers in India over 5,000 years ago. In modern times, Turmeric has become a mainstream natural healing remedy. Turmeric has a wide range of health benefits, but some of its more common uses are to help with menstrual discomforts, joint pain, skin blemishes, skin irritations, hair health, and tension relief in the neck, head, and shoulders.

Turmeric essential oil contains tumerones and sequineterpines, which show great anti-inflammatory actions, calms the nervous system and is a cicatrisant (wound healing). As a warming oil and an analgesic, it is helpful for relieving any painful or cold joint condition, such as rheumatism. *It is a great fixative when creating blends, as it will help to hold the aromas together.

Ok ok, I am going to share with you my special “Yellow Oil” recipe. Believe it or not I was almost holding back, but this formula is too good not to share! I specialize in working with patients who have chronic pain as well as sports injuries. I created this blend to help with soothing sore muscles, tendons and joints, aiding with circulation, reducing swelling and relieving muscle spasms. And guess what….the feedback we had at my wellness retreat has been remarkable. I had a few practitioners use it with clients as well and we had great feedback. Now, aromatherapy is not a one size fits all, so perhaps you will find your own version of this massage oil. If you do, please share, we would love to know. 🙂
