A study was done to determine the Antitumor activity of Balsam Fir Essential Oil. The researchers reported the following:
The antitumor activity of the Balsam Fir essential oil (Abies balsamea) was evaluated against several solid tumor cell lines including breast, prostate, lung, colorectal and melanoma.
Balsam fir oil was found to be active against all the solid tumor cell lines tested.
Keep in mind that these are in vitro tests, meaning that they are performed in a petri dish and there is no verified procedure or protocol in which Balsam fir oil would treat cancer.
