Hospital Study on Lavender Essential Oil for Pain Management

A study was published on PubMed about Lavender Essential Oil being used in Hospitals for pain management.

Study participants were randomized to receive either standard care or standard care and aromatherapy for post-surgical pain up to 24 hours after admission to a non-intensive care surgical unit.

The Aromatherapy group was topically administered a drop of Lavender essential oil after medication and at random for pain. The drops were applied to the back of the neck, temple, ear, wrist or other area of preference.

This clinical trial concluded that Lavender Aromatherapy aided in control of pain intensity for surgical patients.

I hope you’re all as excited as I am to see more research showing the benefits essential oils can provide in hospital settings.
