6 Ways to Use Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)

The Latin name for lavender is “lavare” which means to wash. Due to the pleasant and clean aroma it was used by the Romans to bathe themselves and clean their homes. It brings balance, relaxation, and brings peace of mind while helping to revive the spirit. Lavender harmonizes any blend and is found in some of our Eternity Blends including: Calming Eternity, Elegance, Anxiety, Peace of Mind, and Sleep Eternity as well as our Lavender Ready To Go Balm.

Lavender is of the most popular essential oils used for calming the nerves. It is gentle and has many uses. It is sometimes referred to as a “medicine cabinet in a bottle”. It is nourishing for most skin types, and is used to soothe bites and irritations by reducing inflammation and promoting healthy skin.* Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils in aromatherapy because of its many therapeutic properties. Let’s take a look at more ways where you can utilize lavender into your aromatherapy applications.

6. Lavender Mist- Freshen the room with the clean aroma of real lavender. Some use it to freshen their linens. A good tip is always test a small area first to prevent stains.

You can make your own room spray by blending: Half purified water/half witch hazel. Use distilled water. To make a facial mist use 8-10 drops of essential oils per 4 oz., for a  body spray 30-40 drops per 4 oz. and for a room spray 80-100 drops per 4 oz. Add EO’s first to a 4oz aluminum bottle with atomizer. Then add witch hazel. Mix. Then add water.
