At this time of the year, many of you are getting your gardens planted with great hopes of a big harvest. But there is a big problem many face in the form of small insects that can wreak havoc with the best laid out plans.
And that problem is insects.
By the time you realize you have a problem, it is likely too late to do anything about it. But, there are things you can do to prevent bugs from destroying your garden plants. Essential oils are the perfect solution. Because essential oils come from plants, they are harmless to your garden, but they can be repentant to common insects. Thyme is a wonderful option–along with Fennel, Lavender, Lavandin, Peppermint, Spearmint, Coriander, and Clove.
To use the essential oils, simply dilute with water. You can also add liquid soap so they adhere better to the plants. And then spray.
For added protection for your home, you can use Peppermint around your doors and windows. Spiders especially, are repelled by peppermint. Below are the recipes you can use to make your own garden/home repellent.
